Power Vacuum is a game where you need to mine ores to power your ship, before the fuel tank corrodes.

You use your laser drill to mine ores, but aliens will steal your stuff on hand. (Thankfully, they don’t want your tools!) They will also sometimes attack your ship itself, further damaging the fuel tank.

So I guess it’s kind of a survival game, but instead of managing health or hunger, you need to manage your fuel/power.

I ran into some issues with organizing my project folder and optimizing my builds for Itch.io, but I got it sorted in time.

This is my first game jam game—for the Kenny Jam 2025 using Kenny and KayKit assets. I hope people actually play it.

Personally, my favorite part of the game is the trip back to the ship after collecting a ton of ore to power it up. There’s a feeling of impending accomplishment mixed with tension that an alien might take my hard-earned ore.
